Marco Lo Cicero

 

 

Founder of MLC Yachting, Marco, hails from Palermo, and his connection to yachting and watersports dates back to his youth.

His journey began in 1998 at the age of 18 when he followed his passion for the sea, joining the Coast Guard as Chief Engineer before transitioning to yachting in 2001.

With over 20 years of experience in the maritime industry, Marco has navigated through various roles, from Chief Engineer on charter yachts to Deck Officer and Captain.

At the age of 31, he embraced a managerial role, serving as DPA/CSO for Monaco-based Yacht Management Companies, eventually specializing in Technical Management and Project Management.

Marco has accumulated certifications over time, including DPA certification, ISO Internal Auditor, and ISPS Internal Auditor, along with NTRVP and NPDES Training.

Through these Master and Engineer certifications, he possesses a profound understanding of the yachting industry and client's needs through his onboard sea experience.

Fluent in English, French, and Italian, with a basic knowledge of Spanish, Marco's multifaceted linguistic abilities contribute to effective communication in the diverse yachting landscape.

Beyond his professional life, Marco is an avid Kiteboarder, constantly seeking new challenges and fostering a deep connection with the sea.

 

 

SKILLS

Marco's passion for engineering manifests in his reputation as a well-organized and methodical Yacht Project Manager.

Renowned for his meticulous approach, he has successfully supervised and organized numerous refits and maintenance projects for yachts ranging from 35 to 70 meters in France, Italy, and Spain.

His extensive experience positions him as a valuable collaborator with Yacht Management Companies, where he serves as a Marine Surveyor for technical inspections and pre-purchase surveys.

Marco's mindset is geared towards continual improvement, offering expertise and advice on technical and, when necessary, yacht operational matters.

He holds a particular interest in Yacht Planned Maintenance, believing it to be the nexus where his experiences in technical, operational, and refit management seamlessly converge.
