How does MLC Yachting approach the Pre-Purchase survey?
MLC Yachting adopts a direct and efficient approach to Pre-Purchase Surveys. Unlike others in the industry, MLC Yachting has developed a streamlined process for conducting and witnessing operational tests of all onboard equipment, drawing on extensive experience from many years in Yachting Audits and Surveys.
We are flexible and cater to our client's needs, from acting as Surveyors for onboard inspections to managing the entire pre-purchase process, including organizing drydock visits, coordinating specialized technicians, and conducting laboratory analyses for specific onboard equipment.
- Each piece of equipment is inspected, tested, and its status recorded.
- Crew interviews are conducted, and maintenance logs or schedules are reviewed.
- A photographic record of approximately 600 images is taken for each survey, providing a visual status report of the asset at the time of inspection.
- Findings are reviewed and evaluated with access to technical expertise and often involve equipment manufacturers’ technicians.
- What type of report is provided upon survey completion?
The MLC Yachting reporting system delivers a clear and comprehensive document where clients can find all necessary information to evaluate the yacht's condition. It is methodically organized and includes:
- Yacht data section
- Survey summary
- List of remarks/defects identified
- Survey checklist and criteria applied during the survey
- Photographic documentation of remarks/findings and recommendations
- General photographic section of the yacht.
This document has demonstrated its effectiveness and clarity among clients with varying backgrounds and technical knowledge, as its structure captures the attention of readers at different levels. The summary and defect list highlight the key aspects of the inspection for the majority, while the survey checklist and photographic section cater to those more technically inclined.
